We are delighted to share Grace Removals’ new Māori name gifted by Ngāti Toa Rangatira. Te Whare Tāmau means the House of Preservation or the House of Enduring Preservation. Grace is working on signage currently and will have ‘Te Whare Tāmau’ proudly displayed on the exterior and internally. An explanation of the meaning will be included with the sign at reception.
“We are honoured to receive a name that perfectly embodies both the building’s purpose and design, while reflecting Grace’s commitment to protecting our customers’ possessions,” says Leon Hulme, Director of Grace Removals (NZ).
Protection also includes security. Grace’s new building has secure 24/7 monitoring, CCTV surveillance and monitored alarms. Access to storage areas is restricted. Staff are onsite to help with queries and retrieve your items when you need them.
The solar screens are also part of the protection for your special items, shading the building from the eastern sun. This will help to keep inside temperatures stable for your belongings, as well as staff and visitors.
The new warehouse has been designed with the environment and sustainability in mind. In May 2026, Grace Removals’ warehouse achieved a 4 Star Green Star Design rating, and we’re working towards achieving the full Green Star – Design and as Built NZ v1.1 rating.
Grace has taken the utmost care, along with significant investment, to create an industry-leading building that is built to last. For Leon, that makes all the difference: “This gives me complete confidence that it is the best possible facility for the secure storage and protection of our customers’ irreplaceable possessions.”
Te Whare Tāmau is getting closer to completion each week! If you have irreplaceable collections or precious items you want protected for the short or long term, talk with our Grace team to find out more.
