Wellington Hospitals Foundation is the official charity of Wellington Regional Children’s Hospital (WRCH). The foundation received one of six Grace Gives New Zealand grants in 2017 for a respiratory machine for the Wellington Regional Children’s Hospital.
The Foundations objectives include raising funds for special WRCH projects, medical equipment, research projects and comfort items for patients & families. Each year WRCH cares for thousands of young patients aged from birth to 16 years. Areas of care include the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Inpatients, Outpatients, Radiology, ED & much more.
Wellington Removals Branch Manager, Corie Reed, was invited to the Wellington Regional Hospital to meet with Shona Brunton from Grace Gives recipients, Wellington Hospital’s Foundation.
There, Corie presented the Grace Gives cheque to Shona and learned more about the work the foundation does in filling funding gaps for the purchase of hospital machinery for families. The foundation works across five major health centres and hospitals in the region, serving in excess of 900,000 people.
Wellington Hospital’s Foundation have allocated their Grace Gives grant towards purchasing a respiratory machine for the Wellington Regional Children’s Hospital. The purchase is part of the refurbishment of the hospital which is expected to be completed in 2020.
