The Blanket Bank was created in 2012, when a New Brighton Project team members found the Curtain Bank often had blankets left in their collection bins, of course they decided the best thing to do was pass them on to people in need! Volunteers accept and distribute the bedding, usually made of a pack that includes: a duvet & cover (or similar) pillow case(s), sheets & 1 blanket. And sometimes a few extras.
Working with many agencies across the city, we support around 200 families and individuals each year.
The Grace Gives grant will go towards providing an Emergency Response Fund, for clients with special circumstances. Every donation, volunteer help effort and funding helps these guys help more people when they need it. Read more about it on their website.
