Grace Gives 2017 Recipients

At Grace, we recognise that if not for our local communities, we would not have grown as we have over the years. That’s why we run our Grace Gives initiative each year, to give back to and support and maintain our community connection throughout Australia and New Zealand.

It is with pleasure that we announce that the recipients for the recent round of Grace Gives applications are:

New Zealand

Heart Kids NZ

Heart Kids NZ assist children’s families who are required to stay in hospital for some time, usually between 3-6 weeks. The charity provide food and petrol vouches to take some of the emotional and financial pressures off the family.

Christchurch Early Intervention Trust (The Champion Centre)

The Champion Centre helps children and their families with world-renowned programmes and services that assist children with various special needs, premature birth, cerebral palsy, and traumatic brain injury.

Anxiety New Zealand

Anxiety NZ provides treatment, support and education for anxiety and depression. The organisation hold workshops and run programmes to help kids combat anxiety and give them the tools they need to cope in stressful situations, improve social skills and confidence, and have the ability to relax and regulate emotions.

North Beach Surf Life Saving Club

The North Beach Surf provides voluntary patrols at Christchurch beaches over the summer each year. The club has a large membership of juniors who are training to become the lifeguards of the future.

Camp Quality Wellington Central Districts

Camp Quality Wellington/Central Districts brings fun, hope and happiness to children aged 5-16 years from the lower North Island living with cancer. The organisation run summer and winter camps, family days and social outings to combine fun and friendship with challenges that foster courage and independence.

Wellington Hospitals Foundation

Wellington Hospitals Foundation is the official charity of Wellington Regional Children’s Hospital (WRCH) which raises funds for special WRCH projects, medical equipment, research projects and comfort items for patients and families.

 

Australia

Cherished Pets Community Veterinary Care
Cherished Pets is a unique, award-winning, social veterinary enterprise on a mission to support the companion pets of vulnerable people. Through home pet care services, they assist elderly and disabled pet owners who are often isolated, lonely and unwell and rely on their pets for companionship and comfort.
  TLC for Kids

TLC for Kids is a children’s charity helping sick kids and their families cope with the challenges of everyday life with illness and disability. They support children who are excluded from existing services and would previously have missed out due to their illness type, age, waiting lists, or prior assistance.

  Huntington’s NSW

Young people from Huntington’s Disease families face many challenges including the fear and stigma of having a 50% chance of getting the disease and the stress of having a seriously ill parent. Huntington’s NSW has recently established a Youth Program to support more young people in this position.

  ICEA Foundation

ICEA provide Yarn Facilitators to have courageous conversations with thousands of Western Australian high school students to develop cultural responsiveness, awareness of Indigenous history and reconciliation. These Yarns are vital for the wellbeing and inclusivity of the diverse Perth community and the advancement of Aboriginal culture and people.

  The Beauty Bank

The Beauty Bank fills a gap in services for people leaving a place of domestic violence. It is a volunteer run organisation which makes Life’s Little Luxuries gift bags of essential toiletry, hygiene and gift items for women, men and young people, designed to promote self-worth and realisation that the community cares.

 

We are very much looking forward to seeing the way in which each of the above organisations develop for their communities with the help of their Grace Gives grant.
